Izzy and I live in downtown Petaluma (our favorite town you probably guessed) and Izzy is a Beagle (nose driven) so has remembered all the lovely businesses that give our dog treats. Now Petaluma is special so businesses that you would never suspect give out treats do…here are some of our favorites.

• Brixx – The owners fell for Izzy’s sweet eyes and offered her a treat as we walked through the …. She has not forgotten and now she always looks for them as we pass through. Even if the door is closed she’ll stay awhile till someone notices her. Thanks Brixx for the treats!
• Kabuki Sushi – I practice Pay Day sushi (get paid, get sushi) and eat at many Petaluma sushi restaurants but was very surprised when I walked into Kabuki to pick up take out with Izzy and the staff got excited and rushed over with treats! The server breaks the treat in two so Izzy gets to impress her with her ‘sit’ skills twice. Thanks Kabuki how to make sushi even better is to win Izzys heart.
• Ace Hardware – Not only do they have everything from paint to pie pans, the most helpful staff who have given me advice on door locks and hard water but they allow shopping with your fur kids. Behind the counter is the cache of treats and Izzy has managed to get up to four at any given visit. (As I mentioned her golden eyes can beguile most). Thanks Ace!
• Baxter’s Custom Framing– Stopped in here once only to ask about these amazing 70’s prints and saw a bit husky just sitting waiting while his parents finalized their order. Baxter said ‘Dogs welcome’ and proceeded to give Izzy a big treat! So cool!
